    We are working with a leading survey business based in Aberdeen who are looking for a Survey Inspection and Data Advisor on a STAFF basis.

    The role can be worked remotely but within the UK, as long as the successful candidate is willing to travel to Aberdeen as and when required to attend meetings and travel offshore.

    The role would suit someone who has a background in working in survey data processing and inspection in an offshore environment but now would prefer an onshore based role with occasional offshore trips. A key part of the role is to mentor, develop and support a team of existing offshore survey and inspection staff.

    The ideal candidate would be:

    Qualified in the survey sector with recognised industry qualifications

    • Experienced in offshore operations, including operational working practices in the fields of data processing and inspection and the systems required to fulfil these roles eg asset integrity databases, inspection hardware, data processing software packages and the sensors required during operations.
    • Ideal role for a candidate with Inspection and Data Processing offshore experience who is looking to be based onshore.
    • Current and valid certification for offshore field working.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • HSSEQ knowledge and understanding.

    The main duties:

    Data Processing/ Inspection

    Responsible for the management of performance and career development of all Offshore Personnel in the field of Data Processing and Inspection. This includes the induction and development of Offshore Personnel to ensure a successful transition into field operations with suitable competencies for their roles.

    Oversees the Personnel Performance and Development process for Offshore Personnel and leads the formation and execution of personal mentoring, coaching, and training plans.

    Working with the Offshore Personnel Management Team and MAI Client Deliverables.

    Working with the OPDM and MAI Client Deliverables to proactively support Data Processing and Inspection Field Staff with emphasis on the following;


    • Promoting a positive inclusive culture, communicating and engaging with the pool of field staff, delivering a consistent level of support.


    • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of offshore operations in their field of expertise.


    • Ideally experienced or strong working knowledge within Data Processing and Inspection disciplines.


    • Strong working knowledge of all Marine Asset Service Lines.


    • Support in the onboarding of new employees and existing colleagues, including induction and provide ongoing guidance. Promoting to all field staff the One Fugro message.


    • Meeting with field colleagues as required, via site visits, offshore trips, Townhall meetings and Europe / Africa Regional Workshops. Ensuring that all reporting (end of trip reports, personnel assessments, probationary and best practice etc.) are undertaken and delivered promptly.


    • Comprehensive knowledge of competency (Kahuna) and discipline specific portfolios, promoting participation and completion of systems. To be or qualify to be a Qualified Competency Assessor, ensuring timely response to completed assignments.


    • Provide support and advice to all Data Processing and Inspection colleagues on personnel training and development. Utilise internal training resources and aid with the design, development and implementation of any additional training requirements.


    • Support and review of external training courses and providers. Promote available training on a quarterly basis, confirming attendance of relevant colleagues.


    • Ensuring Training Matrix for all grades are maintained, current and aligned to career development and company strategy.


    • Liaise with the industry Supply Chain to maintain a working knowledge of technological developments and improvements with a view to incorporating these within future training and Training Matrices.


    • Ensure that career development opportunities are captured, managed, and implemented. Recognising colleagues that require additional support, supplying guidance and planning improvement programs. Additionally recognising high achievers and supporting progression to promotion.


    • Champion HSSEQ across the business streams. Be an active member of the Field Staff HSSEQ Sub-committee, promoting and presenting initiatives and company programs, either via onsite, e-learning or in person. As required review incident reports and provide remedial or close out actions and solutions from a technical viewpoint.


    • As required, supply technical support during the interview process.

    Working within the Offshore Personnel Management Team supporting the Offshore Personnel Development Manager and MAI Client Deliverables in the management, development and training of Field Staff.
