    Job Purpose:
    We are seeking Aircraft Control Position Operators (ACPO) to join our Simulator team at Prestwick Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a significant transformation and change initiative within the NATS Air Traffic Control team. These entry-level positions serve as a solid foundation for your career growth at NATS.

    You will be responsible for executing ACPO duties to support Air Traffic Control simulated activities. These activities aim to replicate real-life scenarios, offering high-quality training for Air Traffic Controllers and showcasing potential airspace design changes.

    Principal Accountabilities:
    • Acting as aircraft pilots, following Air Traffic Controllers' commands via a simulated communication link, and inputting instruction messages into simulator systems
    • Ensuring timely and accurate inputs to create realistic scenarios on the radar for effective training sessions
    • Collaborating with colleagues to set up and configure the simulator
    • Supporting Data Preparation and Project Specialists with scenario preparation and testing
    • Performing related support/administrative tasks as necessary
    • Working collaboratively to ensure smooth operation of all activities
    Essential Skills:

    Nice To Have:
    • Experience in delivering theory and practical training
    • Knowledge of Radio Telephony phraseology and aircraft performance
    • Familiarity with ATC procedures
    • Previous exposure to an ATC environment
    Additional Information:
    • This role is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract
    • Applications without a covering letter will not be considered
    • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
    • Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided
    • Starting salary: £25,740.51
    Assessments are scheduled for the week commencing 15th July 2024. Preferred start dates are in September 2024.
