    Regional Managing Director for imec Cambridge UK What you will do

    You will be responsible for the UK activities including:

    • Overseeing the day-to-day operations and project execution of the UK team in coordination and close communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Growing the imec Cambridge UK team to 50 researchers and engineers.
    • Monitoring, exploring, and establishing UK funding opportunities for imec R&D and its service department, imec.IC-link.
    • Ensuring alignment of imec Cambridge UK with imec corporate strategy, policies, and business processes.
    • Expanding and managing imec's network in the UK with a diverse set of local, academic, industry, and international stakeholders, including technical subject matter experts, university faculty and staff, executive leadership, and government officials.
    • Achieving local KPIs and complying with imec's global KPIs.
    • Managing local budgets and working closely with imec's global operations teams.
    • Fostering an environment of creative thinking and innovative ideas to be deployed in imec's research programs to address the industry's most pressing challenges.
    • Coordinating and aligning closely and regularly with imec technical and business leadership beyond the UK.

    The ideal candidate will use their startup-mentality and strong track record of success in leading multi-functional teams and complex technical programs in semiconductor or microelectronics industries. You will report to a Vice President in the imec R&D organization.

    Who you are

    You possess:

    • A master's degree or higher in engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years of experience in a fabless, semiconductor manufacturing or R&D environment.
    • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within the semiconductor or microelectronics industry with demonstrated general management skills.
    • Experience with managing successful UK, EU, or US funded research projects from proposal through to completion.
    • Working knowledge of system-on-chip design process and scheduling.
    • Eagerness to stay up to date on the latest industry and technology developments.
    • A rich network of industry, academia, local, and national leaders to reach and confer fluently on technical, legal, and business-related matters.
    • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). You can communicate in a professional, customer-focused, and diplomatic manner.
    • A passion for building and managing high level innovative teams.
    • The ability to judge problem situations and opportunities, recognize priorities, and act accordingly in a flexible manner.
