    The AV CAD Drafter will aid the Project Managers and Application team with the implementation of Audio, Video, and Lighting designs. We are looking for someone who is personable, good at working in a team and who has great AutoCAD skills.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of technical drawings (block diagrams, Rack layouts, patch & facility panels, Cable Schedules, Layout drawings, mounting details, etc.)
  • Support Project managers & Application team in research and design validation
  • Creation of venue models within SketchUp
  • Assist in gathering of documents, technical data sheets, and manuals that are required for the projects.
  • Conduct research into new products and specialised equipment.
  • Keep informed about new products and new technologies in the audiovisual field.
  • Assist with as-built drawings by combining the notes from installation and information from the project managers.
  • Assist with creating the final O&M Manuals for Projects
  • Assist in the creation of CAD blocks to build up Solotech internal library.
  • Any other reasonable tasks within the remit of the role.
  • Level of education:

  • Educated to industry related degree level or equivalent is desirable
  • Requirements:

  • Full, Clean UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work and remain in the UK
  • Minimum 3 years' experience drafting AVL systems.
  • Requested skills:

  • Experience in Audiovisual, Sound, Lighting, Production, and Project Management
  • Intermediate level of skill in AutoCAD at a minimum
  • Intermediate level of skill in SketchUp
  • Intermediate knowledge in sound, lighting, control, video, and video conferencing systems
  • Knowledge/awareness of BIM and Revit preferable.
  • Specialised software and/or DSP configurations for lighting, sound analysis, calibration, commissioning dimmers, various sound and lighting consoles is a plus.
  • Good Knowledge of Office 365
  • Ability to understand and interpret schematics, electrical drawings and building elevation plans
  • Intricate attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent problem solving, team building and planning & decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively and establish priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to travel within UK as and when required.
