Description
We are looking for a Learning Technologist to join our busy team which is Home-based with occasional UK travel.


The role requires an agile, self-starter who is able to balance varied responsibilities and become an active and supportive member of our European division.

You will provide our colleges with technical support for our Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle,and research and implement innovative technologies at the forefront of digital learning.

Learning Technologist Responsibilities:


  • Timely resolution of Application Support incidents within agreed service levels
  • Provide exceptional customer service through high quality support and guidance for users, regardless of location, and escalating where required
  • Conduct analysis and produce written documentation on any new learning management systems
  • Assist with local user training and development of training materials when directed
  • Work closely with key L&T staff to develop online modules that take advantage of Moodle 4.1 features
  • Keep up to date with learning technology developments in HE and deliver webinars to keep stakeholders informed
  • Help to develop digital assets that can be standardised and used across the division
  • Work with the data team to analyse learning analytics in order to evaluate student usage of Moodle


The role of Learning Technologist (LT) requires to have a versatile skillset that demonstrates technical awareness of management systems and the creative ability to support Learning and Teaching staff with learning design.


The LT will take primary responsibility for providing quality support to existing production sites, whilst assisting the implementation team with roll outs to further colleges.

Acting as primary support for Moodle on our Service Desk, the LT will providequality customer service for incoming support requests as well as from colleges directly when working on college-based projects.

Support requests may require troubleshooting or escalation, but the LT will own and maintain the relationship with our internalstakeholders to ensure a consistent user experience.


The LT will also have the opportunity to play a key part in Learning and Teaching strategies, demonstrating the ability to research digital technologies that enhance the delivery of teaching, including the design and development of online modules and digitalassets.


Learning Technologist Requirements:


Essential:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the education sector
  • Student Management System exposure, especially Moodle
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to assess reported incidents and either provide a resolution or track them through to successful solution by escalating to the appropriate resource
  • Experience with learning design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a global IT team
  • Ability to travel when required

Desirable:

  • Familiar with modern Learning and Teaching administration processes
  • An understanding of VLE accessibility standards
  • A want to learn new systems
