    This role is within the RWE Renewables Offshore Wind Development UK and Ireland Consents Team.

    There is a need to recruit a Land Transaction Manager (LTM) to manage land acquisition activity on current and future offshore wind projects.

    The role will deliver and maintain necessary land agreements with landowners and ensure the delivery of other required third party agreements with interested parties to the project.

    2 GW Norfolk offshore wind farm projects (comprising Vanguard East, Vanguard West and Boreas). However, the role may in future be reassigned to other offshore projects within the portfolio as needed.
    Key responsibilities of the Land Transaction Manager for the Norfolk projects will include:

    Responsible for negotiation of all legal agreements to secure identified land for survey works, construction & operations activities including land for electrical infrastructure, habitat management and access.

    Exercise the compulsory acquisition rights granted as part of the DCO as required at the construction phase.

    Work closely with the Onshore Consent Managers and Project Development Manager to provide land transaction advice that might affect onshore scheme definition/routing etc in order to minimise project risk.

    Negotiate land and crossing agreements to maintain a project's commercial position and minimise overall project risk.
    Responsible for ongoing relationship management with landowners throughout the development phase, through construction and subsequently operations.

    Liaises with National Grid (Electricity and Gas), Network Rail, UKPN, Cadent Gas, The Crown Estate, utility providers, Highways departments & local authorities.

    Reports functionally into the Project Development Manager for the Norfolk project. Travel to site required for meetings with landowners and land agents. Attendance at public meetings as required by the project.
    Identification and implementation of an optimum land transaction strategy for the project.
    Work collaboratively with the project team to design the project, taking all relevant land considerations into account.
    Support the project's external land agents and the real estate lawyers.
    Ensure land risks are identified and appropriately controlled
    Proactively share relevant lessons learnt and best practice between projects in the wider portfolio
    Degree or equivalent in relevant field, such as estate management, planning, legal or commercial negotiation;
    Experienced manager (several years) with demonstrable experience in negotiating legal agreements for the acquisition of land preferably with first–hand experience of the CPO process;
    Demonstrable experience in management of people, budgets, programmes, risks and report writing;
    Experience of renewable energy, utility, or offshore industries advantageous, particularly: electrical infrastructure issues associated with an offshore wind farm or linear development;
    Good communication skills in English and proven abilities in stakeholder management;
    Experience in working on projects and in teams where interfaces between a range of technical disciplines exist;
    Be highly motivated and have the ability to work to project deadlines;

    The Land Transaction Manager role reports to Team Lead Consents on a line basis and the Project Development Manager on a project basis.

    The role will require travel to meetings in RWE's London Office and occasionally to the RWE office in Swindon.

    Travel to other locations in the UK and Europe may be required.
