( Operational hours are 4pm-11pm Mon-Fri | 1pm - 11pm Sat -Sun)
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and delivery of an out-of-hours' service for people experiencing mental distress or crisis.
The Team Leader will ensure that the service offers a space to encourage sharing of lived experience, to develop people'spersonal goals, so that people feel more resilient and better able to cope as a result of the support they have received.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to staff to help them to carry out their roles effectively to deliver a safe, welcoming and quality support service.
- Manage staff team rotas, ensuring sufficient complement of staff and volunteers are on shift to meet service user need.
- Support the Service Manager throughout recruitment processes, ensuring that the vacancies are recruited to with competent staff that share the values of the service.
- Ensure that new starters are inducted fully, and that appropriate training, supervisions and appraisals take place within appropriate timescales
- Work within set targets and manage time effectively on own initiative and as part of a team
- Make a positive contribution to and work constructively within the team, including developing your own abilities to enhance team performance
- Support individuals on a onetoone or group basis as part of a variety of interventions relating to the steps of selfdirected support and achieving their goals
- Contributing to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse and selfharm
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the individual and the service
- Communicate effectively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Forge and maintain relationships with other agencies in the community
- Promote engagement within the community as a key factor in recovery and selfmanagement
- Empower individuals to exercise choice and control, offering a personcentred service led by the wishes of the individuals you are working with
Essentials:
- DBS within the last 12 months
- Relevant experience supporting those with Mental Health
- Immediately available
- Driver with own car
