Summary


Christ Church Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team of staff.


The successful applicant will work with class teachers to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups of children, as well as to monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to both pupils and the class teacher.

They will have high expectations of conduct and behaviour and establish supportive relationships with pupils, parents, and other staff members.

The successful applicant will be committed to ensuring that all children have a high-quality learning experience within a nurturing and inspiring environment.


Main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Implementing structured learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils;
  • Monitoring the personal social and emotional needs of pupils;
  • Developing positive relationships with pupils in order to promote pupil progress and attainment;
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and developmental needs;
  • Producing relevant classroom resources;
  • Undertaking classroom administrative tasks;
  • Supervising pupils and assisting in the management of behaviour;
  • Providing short term cover for classes when the class teacher is unexpectedly unavailable.

All staff at Christ Church are expected to:

  • Promote an atmosphere in which effective learning can take place;
  • Support the promotion of positive relationships with parents, carers and outside agencies;
  • Work within school policies and procedures;
  • Attend staff training as appropriate;
  • Take care for their own and other people's health and safety;
  • Be aware of the confidential nature of issues related to home/pupil/teacher/school work.
Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent);
Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths;
  • First Aid qualification.
Essential Experience

  • Enthusiasm, initiative, reliability and a commitment to ensuring that all children have a highquality learning
- experience within a nurturing and inspiring environment;

  • An ability to relate well to children and to work successfully as part of a team;
  • Good communication, time management and organisational skills;
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in a classroom environment;
  • An ability to use ICT effectively
