Description

Would you like to help us provide nutritional care to patients? We have a vacancy for a Dietetic Support Worker to join our friendly and dynamic team of Dietitians in the Grange University Hospital.

We rely on our support staff to help us monitor and review the nutritional intake of some of the patients under our care.

In addition part of this role will be to provide support to the dietitians on site covering organisational duties to ensure equipment and nutritional resources are available for patient care.

You may also support the education of nurses and other ward based staff who assess patient's risk of malnutrition.

There will be some administrative duties so knowledge of Microsoft office and other IT packages will also be of benefit.

We are looking for someone who is organised and likes to work in a dynamic and fast paced acute healthcare environment but enjoys working in a caring role, has good communication skills and can champion the importance of nutrition in the healthcare setting with enthusiasm.

Although some existing knowledge of nutrition and experience working in the care setting will be of benefit, training will be provided - your ability to work as part of a team and provide care in a compassionate manner are most important.

Whilst based at Grange University Hospital, this post holder will work with the team of acute dietitians working across the main ABUHB hospitals.

There may be occasional cross site cover required.

The Acute Dietetic team consists of 30 dietitians and 10 dietetic / admin support staff.

We currently work Monday to Friday covering usual office hours but also have the benefit of flexible working, enabling staff to manage personal pressures such as appointments alongside work.

If you think this post could be for you we would love to hear from you.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
