- Implementation and management of systems and risk management arrangements to support monitoring of compliance with quality and clinical governance standards.
- Escalation of risks and issues to the Director and development of mitigation plans.
- Management of the resolution process of complaints, conflicts and issues from users, staff, internal and external service providers and partner organisations in accordance with policy.
- Implementation and monitoring of an incident reporting process, which includes root cause and trend analysis for service improvement and learning.
- Representing the service at relevant, senior management meetings and external strategic, network, risk and quality forums.
- Maintenance of a service quality and performance dashboard, with the ongoing development of appropriate exception reporting where necessary and relevant escalation processes, linked with service auditing procedures.
- Oversight of development and implementation of Rio, the clinical case management system.
- Monitoring and maintenance of the clinical and safeguarding supervision processes, in collaboration with the senior management team, including NMC revalidation, CPD requirements for clinical staff and overall workforce development for all staff groups.
- Providing the leadership role for the service emergency and business continuity plans.

Description
One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Head of Children's Health Service. This is a temporary contract for 2 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
The successful post holder will lead the delivery of public health nursing services, Health Visiting, Family Nurse Partnership and School Health and also the Specialist Health Visiting Services within the multi-disciplinary team, with the overall aim of prevention of ill-health, protection from communicable diseases and early identification and referral of physical, mental and social care concerns. These services are internally commissioned.
They will lead, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, the development of the Council's operational model for delivering the Children's Health Service within the emerging context of delivery of the Early Help Strategy and Family Hub networks, ensuring the Council's statutory and regulatory duties relating to health services are fulfilled. They will also fulfil the role of Lead Nurse and CQC Registered Manager for the service and line manage members of the Senior Management Team. They will also be the responsible Council Officer for clinical governance within the context of operational clinical practice.
