    LOCATION

    Infleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Oxford, United Kingdom office.

    JOB SUMMARY

    Infleqtion UK is looking for a Systems Engineer with a passion for working with a multi-disciplinary team to bring state-of-the art quantum technologies outside the laboratory and into the real-world. The systems engineer will participate in the development of our optical atomic clock products. These devices are amongst the most accurate measurement devices humanity has created. The systems engineer will be at the core of the commercialisation effort, coordinating the work performed by the various engineering disciplines and atomic physicists.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate the productisation of optical atomic clocks
    • Engage with end-users and key stakeholders to distil critical system requirements into product specifications
    • Product lifecycle execution
    • Manage top level requirements into system design
    • Generate and maintain product, system, subsystem, and interface control documents
    • Lead systems integration efforts across mechanical, electrical, and software functions
    • Conduct critical design reviews based upon targeted product specifications
    • Define and implement validation tests of critical subsystems
    • Manage with the project manager technical priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
    • Manage processes for assembly, testing, and validation of optical atomic clocks
    • Generate and/or control relevant technical drawings and process documentation

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering related discipline, with several years of relevant experience
    • Experience with integrated hardware and software product development, new product introduction, and Product Life Cycle processes,
    • Demonstrated successful leadership of delivery of new product introduction through execution of full product life cycles from concept to manufacturing ramp
    • Strong writing and technical documentation capability
    • Familiarity with product lifecycle management controls & techniques, including phase gate reviews
    • Technical documentation knowledge
    • Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills

    Desirable Skills or Knowledge

    • Familiarity with opto-mechanical, atomic or quantum technology systems
    • Experience developing mid to high volume commercial products
