Job description:


_ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: _


The Roads and Local Group are offering 3 people the opportunity to join their directorates, including Roads and Projects Infrastructure Delivery (RaPID), Roads Strategy (RS) and Logistics and Borders (LAB).


As a member of the Directors Office for two busy direcorates, you will support the team in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Directorate's core corporate responsibilities, and wider client functions.


This is a great opportunity to develop an understanding of how a Project Management Office functions, whilst getting involved in the Business requirements of the directorate.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Directors by helping to resolve conflicting and competing demands on their availability and resources.

Person specification:


About you
To thrive in this role, you will

  • Have experience of offering support to internal colleagues when in need.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective relationships and work confidently with internal and external partners.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills so that you can proficiently deliver the Government's agenda with pride, passion and purpose.
  • Be confident in working within a fast paced environment and delivering to tight deadlines.

Additional information


A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.

  • Experience of providing personal assistant support to colleagues, including how you managed yours and others priorities and taking initiative in forward planning.
