    Our Indigo Gender Service is an NHS commissioned Primary Care Service for trans and non-binary people in Greater Manchester.

    It launched in December 2020 and continues to deliver safe, timely and affirmative health care to our service users as part of our mission to support trans and non-binary people to thrive.

    Were looking for an Indigo Counsellor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

    As an Indigo Counsellor, you will provide psychological advice and treatment to trans, non-binary and gender variant people who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

    Implementing your knowledge of holistic care and counselling interventions, you will offer support and meet the distinct needs of each client.

    Carry out risk management and address safety concerns

    • Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered and clinical sessions carried out per week
    • Oversee, maintain and collate data for reports
    Demonstrable experience of delivering counselling

    • Demonstrable experience of supporting trans and nonbinary communities in a
    Safeguarding training and experience of carrying out risk assessments

    • Experience of working towards and meeting agreed performance and service targets
    • Other organisations may call this role Counsellor, Support Counsellor, Mental Health Counsellor, or Wellbeing Counsellor.
