Essential Qualifications & Skills
Mechanical Engineering degree (preferably BEng or MEng - Mechanical based rather than BSc Product Design / Manufacturing Design etc.)
Some experience of a Design Software (e.g. 2D: AutoCAD, 3D: Inventor, Solid Works, Solid Edge, Catia or equivalent)
Ability to work displaying organisation, enthusiasm & own initiative
Multi-task with simultaneous projects meeting tight cost and time restraints (often a week or less)
Full UK manual driving license
Job Description
· To be an integral part of the Engineering team starting to work under own initiative
· Taking the standard production folders, working from the order acknowledgement, technical specification and relevant quotation details to create the required documentation.
· Mechanical and light Electrical design of the full range of equipment
· Begin to offer creative thinking to reduce cost
· Visit to customer's sites both in the UK and overseas as necessary to gain relevant information
· Understanding the customers' requirements to ensure the fan, water, ducting and cabling requirements are communicated clearly
· Responsibility for the control and issuing of routine production orders
· Create detailed BOMs enabling Purchasing and Production to purchase and build the systems
· Work within set processes and ensure continuity of BOM structures and flow of information
· Checking that the mechanical and electrical parts are of the latest specification and meet the requirements of the system ordered
· Record information in a logical manner
· Maintain a well-organised working area
· Controlling the issue level on BOMs within our MRP software, ensuring these follow the agreed descriptor control procedures and methodology accordingly
· Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations using detailed drawings released within the Vault (Engineering Data Management System)
· Using Inventor/AutoCAD Computer Aided Design system to produce 2D and 3D drawings of parts and assemblies using approved parts
Remuneration Package
Basic annual salary: graduate: £28,000 - £30,000. 1 – 2 yrs experience: up to £32,000
Thereafter salary scale increases according to level or competency & experience and is reviewed annually.
Monday – Friday 08:45 – 17:15.
Pension on joining the company.
