My successful client, based in Erdington is seeking a driven, enthusiastic Import/Export Clerk to join their team.

Benefits:

Salary up to £35,000 doe

Hours of work

Mon
Thurs 08:30 5pm, Fri 08:30 4pm
Free onsite parking

25 days holiday + 8 days

Duties Include:

Responsible to arrange and monitor company's import and export shipments.
Coordinating with overseas factories to arrange imports and liase with UK customers for delivery requirements FORS / timed / Construction site access etc.
Facilitating the shipping of products using company appointed freight forwarders and coordinate collections and deliveries of overseas orders with the warehouse team.
Responsible to prepare documentation for import, export and customs process.
Responsible to verify invoices and request finance department to pay overseas suppliers and company freight forwarders.
Continually review freight costs and transportation rates, arrange request for proposal (RFP) for freight forwarders and carriers to submit their rates.
Request C88 and Supplier Invoice + Packing List
Check Declared Value
Check Commodity Code is correct
Check Good Description is Neither too accurate nor too vague
Check that the quantity is correct
Check if Duty has been paid and if the amount is correct?
Collate Freight Invoice, C88, Supplier Invoice, Supplier Packing List
Support with Refrigerant Imports
File and Archive the information by Date

Skills and Experience required

Previous experience in a similar role is essential
Attention to detail
Highly organised
Excellent time management
Excellent communication skills
Able to work under pressure to deadlines
