My client, a reputable name in the financial services sector, is looking to hire a Linux Engineer on a Permanent basis to play a key role in ensuring the stability and performance of their Linux-based infrastructure.
This will be a blend of project and BAU work, and you will be seen as a key and influential voice when it comes to improving the processes, technologies and stability of the organisation's Unix estate.
As well as the above, you will be expected to provide full lifecycle management of all Unix systems and perform root cause problem investigations, implementing solutions to any problems identified.
The role also requires you to work in conjunction with an on-call rota which includes weekend work from time to time.
To be right for this role, you must have experience in the following:An excellent understanding of Linux operating systems, including knowledge of installations, configurations, and troubleshootingPrevious experience managing F5 load balancersExperience of an enterprise Linux, preferably Red Hat EnterpriseAn understanding of scripting/programming in either Ansible, Perl, Python or JavaAn understanding of networking principles such as TCP/IP, DNSThe company offer a flexible working policy and the role is paying £70,000 basic salary, with a good benefits package and bonus potential.
