Reed Finance are working with a market leading manufacturing business, based in Yatton, recruiting for a Senior Buyer.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and develop a structured, creative and innovative procurement processes.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and manage and communicate any supply problems.
  • Purchase of goods, materials, components or services in line with specification, including cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, suppliers and alternative solutions.
  • Identify, research, evaluate and deliver areas of opportunity to improve cost, quality & delivery.
  • Ensure that collaboration with the Design Team is ingrained in the structure to research and evaluate new products.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and contribute to the strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve value including cost and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities.
  • Assess and evaluate supplier standing and undertake performance reviews.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials contributing to effective 'make or buy' decisions.
  • Manage the procurement process including assessing tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
  • Work with the external sales team to provide sales opportunities through new procurement opportunities.
  • Prepare purchase orders.
  • Manage, mentor and coach your direct report (Buyer).
  • Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate supplier and stakeholder communication including performance reviews.
