Manufacturing Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to assist the Financial Controller in the day today management of the finance function whilst also supporting the wider business through a period ofincreased investment and development.


What will the Finance Manager position involve?
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the key responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include:

  • Perform day-to-day management of financial accounts ensuring financial transactions are performed in compliance with company policies;
  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly forecasts and annual budget;
  • Prepare accurate and timely month end reporting;
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations and support preparation of the weekly and monthly cashflow;
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and other financial issues and develop solutions to resolve, implementing effective improvements to processes where required;
  • Support submission of monthly VAT returns;
  • Support preparation of year end statutory reporting and tax submissions to group;
  • Reviewing and checking weekly payment runs & monthly payroll prior to submission;
  • Support annual stock take and periodic stock counts.
  • Applicants for the Finance Manager position will hold full accountancy position with previous experience of working within a similar role and demonstrable staff management capabilities;
  • Previous experience of reviewing existing processes and implementing effective change would be highly beneficial as would exposure of working within a manufacturing environment.
