Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Logistics team on a fixed-term contract. This is ideal if you are looking for exciting work this summer.


You will be providing management and onsite support on behalf of the Showsec Logistics department, at some of the UK's biggest events, as well as stadium shows at Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur, and Twickenham.


Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the successful applicant will closely liaise with the Logistics Supervisor to ensure all logístical aspects of an event are managed efficiently.

They will assist the Logistics Manager in ensuring all events are supported by qualified Logistics staff. This role will require the postholder to travel to events nationwide.


Your time will be split between planning and conducting pre-event admin work, and managing the team onsite, at events and shows nationwide.


This contract uses annualised hours (pro rata) to account for peak times during the summer months, with weekend working and travel a fundamental part of the role.

This is not a Monday to Friday - 5 role.


What you will be doing:


  • Ensure the highquality delivery of Logistics department operations, attending and managing teams in consultation with the Logistics Manager
  • Manage the Logistics staff ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner
  • Line management responsibility of staff, including some of the casual workforce, and ensuring that policies and processes are adhered to in line with Showsec standards and legal requirements
  • Manage your own operational and administrative workload in consultation with your manager. Comply with all company policies and procedures relating to the role including laws and regulatory influences
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times including the effective use of communication, oral and written, and observe high levels of confidentiality
  • Respond to internal and external communication in a timely manner
  • Oversee the scheduling of Logistics staff onto shifts using our staff rostering system
  • Identify, coach, mentor, and develop staff within the department
  • Plan, alongside the Warehouse Coordinator, the delivery of all event equipment to each event in a timely manner
  • Forge strong working relationships with the area operations teams and other stakeholders
  • Assist the Logistics Manager in auditing the departments KPIs and SOPs at events
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post

  • A strong leader, capable of providing management and onsite support for the Showsec Logistics department
  • Able to provide excellent project management for preevent planning
  • Experienced in leadership and possess strong coaching skills to get the best out of our established team
  • Able to make decisions in an evolving environment you need to be calm and decisive in challenging and stressful situations
  • Able to balance the workload of multiple projects at once. Excellent attention to detail will ensure projects run to schedule and scope
  • An excellent communicator that is able to disseminate information to individuals in all areas of the business
