    Information regarding the role of Graduate Trainee Teacher Apprentice

    This is an exciting opportunity to enter the profession andgain significant teaching experience while studying to become a fully qualifiedteaching professional.

    The Graduate Trainee Teacher role, in conjunction with theGraduate Teacher Programme and Buckinghamshire University, offers talented andmotivated graduates the chance to study towards the full range of professionalteaching qualifications while gaining significant on the job and classroomexperience and earning a competitive salary which reflects your prior academicsuccess. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will hold a PGTA (level 6) orPGCE (level 7) academic teaching qualification, QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)allowing you to practice in the UK and abroad and a teaching apprenticeship aswell as having a minimum of 600 hours of teaching experience. Unliketraditional taught routes into teaching, you will be a fully fledged member ofthe school community from day one, acting as both lead teacher and tutor tostudents and being involved in all areas of school life.

We willfurther support your development by ensuring you gain an extended placement ina different school and have access to expertise and opportunities across thewider educational community, allowing you to gain a deep understanding ofeducation across the age and stage range and in different school settings.

    We are seeking applications from graduates with a 2.2 orabove in Sciences, Computing, Mathematics, Spanish, French, design Technologyor a related discipline. It is not vital that your first degree is in the subject that you intend to teach, but additional training may be needed to enhanceyour subject knowledge if it is not. Experience working in an educationalsetting with children and young people will be a benefit, but most important tous is your outlook and drive to continually improve. Teaching is a highlyrewarding career choice, but it is one which requires you to hold yourself tothe highest of standards, to be self motivated and work independently and tocontinually reflect on your practice and how you can succeed.     Job Specification

    Job Title: Graduate Trainee Teacher Apprentice

    Location: Clyst Vale Community College

    Responsible to: Head of Department, Deputy Principal(Curriculum)

    Salary: up to £28,000 dependent on subject specialism andexperience

    Hours: In school directed hours are Monday to Friday 8.25 –3.25, term time. Additional work outside of the school day will be needed tocomplete training and study.

    Key purpose of the job

    To design, plan and deliver lessons to students across thesecondary age range (11 – 16) in your subject specialism. You will be workingfrom detailed curriculum plans and schemes of work which have been designed incollaboration from experts across the trust. To act as a tutor to a class ofstudents, overseeing their personal development curriculum and being the firstpoint of call for pastoral matters. To immerse yourself in the culture of theschool, continue your own education through engagement with all taught aspectsof the course and take up all opportunities for learning and development withinschool and further afield.

    (Please note, this job purpose reflects the role of a fullytrained member of teaching staff. As a Graduate Apprentice you would besupported in gaining the knowledge and skills to support you in performing atthis level as quickly as possible and at least by the end of the fixed term)

    1. To deliver the curriculum in a manner that meets theneeds of individual students.

    2. To implement Trust's policies and procedures.

    3. To contribute to the process of curriculum development inorder to ensure that the curriculum provided is of high quality and meeting the needs of individualstudents.
