Applications are invited for the above fixed-term part-time (0.8) post working within the School of Psychology and Sport Science.

The appointee will lead a small programme team comprising staff from the Psychological Therapies Training Team within BCUHB, working closely alongside the NWCPP Programme Director and will have specific responsibility for leading the Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma courses in CBT.

These courses are newly commissioned by Health Education and Improvement Wales.

Whilst the programmes have received validation the successful applicant will have a major role in developing the programmes ensuring a vibrant and effective learning experience and liaising effectively with key stakeholders.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

Overview


The School of Psychology and Sport Science houses two of Bangor University's high performing departments: the Department of Psychology, and the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

Our world-leading research spans cognitive neuroscience, clinical interventions, psychological wellbeing, elite performance, physical activity, and health and applied human physiology.

School/Unit


The School of Psychology has been running level 7 CBT modules in close collaboration with Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board for almost 10 years.

BCUHB has a well-developed Psychological Therapies Training Team, staff from which will jointly deliver the programmes.

These staff are accredited CBT therapists, supervisors and trainers who have extensive teaching experience and have developed a supervisory network.

The PG Cert will have 13 students each year and the PG Dip 8 students.

Purpose of the Job


The main purpose of the job is to lead on the Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in CBT, ensuring a vibrant and effective learning experience and liaising effectively with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:


Specific Duties:

  • To manage the input into the Programme from the Psychological Therapies Training Team.
  • To lead programme development through ongoing active involvement in Committees and Working Parties and ongoing liaison with stakeholders.
  • To ensure that the programmes meet the requirements for accreditation with BABCP at level 1 (PG Cert) and Level 2 (PG Dip).
  • To work to enhance existing schemes/courses, and to develop new areas, including new modules or courses as appropriate.
  • To reflect on academic practice including the development of teaching materials and/or methods of approach and delivery.
  • To develop learning platforms, including the use of the University's virtual learning environments according to the needs of the student group.
  • To utilise effective assessment instruments and ensure adequate and timely feedback to students is provided.
