    Job summary

    We would love to hear from caring, motivated and forward thinking candidates to deliver high quality care for patients undergoing Minor surgery under local anaesthetic, in the Community setting. CHL works from multiple locations throughout Lincolnshire and travelling to each of our satellite sites will be essential.

    Main duties of the job

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To plan and deliver care for all patients working closely with the Theatre Nurse, GPwSIs, Consultants and other members of theatre team.
  • To set up and shut down operating rooms paying meticulous attention to detail with regards to equipment cleaning and maintenance and stocking up.
  • To ensure that all patient documentation is labelled and correctly completed for every patient every day.
  • To ensure that all supplies are available for each patient and to ensure that re-order paperwork is completed and sent to the administrative team in a timely manner.
  • To communicate correctly any relevant patient issues eg Allergies etc
  • To assist, under the direction of the nurse in charge, the running of theatre list, ensuring that patients are sent for in a timely manner.
  • To assist in ensuring that WHO checks are carried out at correct times.
  • To assist in ensuring that department SOPs are followed.
  • To assist with department audits.
  • To assist with the training and developing of new members of the team.
  • To maintain a safe environment for all theatre users and patients.
  • Liaise with the Senior Theatre Nurse in agreeing how identified training and development needs are met.

    Job responsibilities

    Main Purpose of the Job:

    To provide and maintain the highest possible standard of clinical care for our patients, by ensuring a clean safe and well equipped environment for them and the rest of the team.

    A friendly manner is essential as you will need to be able to communicate with patients and put them at ease during this vulnerable time.

    Exacting attention to detail and ensuring that your documentation is accurate and up to date is paramount to managing our patients care and delivery of the best outcome.

  • To attend staff forums.
  • Liaise with the Senior Theatre Nurse in agreeing how identified training and development needs are met.
  • Ensure that own practice is kept updated using an appropriate model of clinical supervision.
  • To carry our pre and post clinic set up and administration to include:
  • Clinic Day Duties on Clinic days (1 Hour before and after each clinic)

    Pre Clinic session

  • Set up panic alarm and check it works.
  • Turn on PC and printer.
  • Print out all patient clinic documents.
  • Prepare patient ERS documents on PC ready for surgeon.
  • Prepare Histology/Andrology forms (Ensure Community Healthcare Ltd is written in the 'copy to' section of each form)

  • Give patient list to reception.
  • Prepare Clinic room for patients.
  • Ensure the Nurse check form is completed for each patient.
  • Post Clinic session

  • Ensure each patient is given a Questionnaire and envelope.
  • Ensure each patient is given a wound care leaflet and any other relevant paper work.
  • Ensure each patient is given Andrology pot and relevant documents if Vasectomy.
  • Collate patient documents into order and scan them to PC, save the files to Specific folder on CHL computer (Training will be given)
  • Place all patient documents into brown folder and send to Louth office using internal NHS mail (See reception)
  • Ensure all Histology post are gathered and delivered to reception, this will require a signature from reception.
  • Pack away all CHL disposables and equipment into the CHL Store room.
  • Ensure all Clinical waste is disposed of correctly.
  • Ensure the Clinic room is left as it was found.
  • Run through Disposable stock items and email CHL if there are any items you feel are critically low
  • Additional Accountabilities:

  • To plan and deliver stock and equipment to all of Community Healthcare's Satellite sites.
  • To attend regular Nurse and Admin team meetings
  • To perform regular stock checks at all Community Healthcare's Satellite sites
  • To be flexible with working arrangements in the event of Clinic day emergencies
  • To assist at Community Healthcare's head office with admin duties when required
  • The post holder must at all times carry out his / her responsibilities with due regard for Community Healthcare Ltds' policies.
