Senior Ecologist on our
Herefordshire County Council Framework and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.
Role Purpose
As a Senior Ecologist you will provide pragmatic support and advice to the contract and operational teams on site with delivering ecological requirements to programme, budget and quality standard.
This includes on-site surveys, inspections and watching briefs, providing practical advice on programme and on-site measures required from the works information, and providing practical advice on legal requirements and company standards.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Ecologist you will:
- Develop and support implementation of ecological management plans.
- Build relationships with regulators, clients, design teams, and internal teams.
- Ensure the company environmental management system is maintained in line with changing standards and legislation and liaise with the senior team leads on the changes required.
- Investigate and report ecological incidents.
- Undertake habitat suitability assessments and protected species surveys.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of ecological management and mitigation.
- Good understanding of environmental management for construction sites.
- Excellent understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment.
- CIEEM Membership.
- Experience of working on large scale infrastructure construction/highways projects.
- At least one protected species survey licence.
