Executive Assistant - International (Senior Associate)

The International Division leads our strategy for international engagement, working collaboratively across the FCA to ensure the organisation delivers on its international priorities.

We are currently reviewing and reforming our international approach. This role would sit at the heart of these efforts at a fascinating and challenging time.

As a result, you will help shape the future of financial services in the UK and overseas for years to come.


As Executive Assistant, you would:

  • Support the Director, International, in running the International Division and the FCA's international structures;
  • Enabling the Director, International and International SLT to achieve their objectives, working closely on a range of management, strategic and business issues;
  • Triage and manage requests and correspondence to the Director, and ensure the flow of relevant information across the FCA;
  • Ensure that the Director is appropriately briefed and advised on key issues;
  • Draft correspondence, where appropriate;
  • Ensure the smooth running of the International Division and the FCA's international functions;
  • Providing line management, support and direction to the Director's Personal Assistant;
  • Supporting on financial review/budgets, resource planning, talent management, communications and pay review practices, ensuring they are coordinated effectively across the HR function;
  • Tracking progress against divisional objectives, risk and internal audit actions and managing agendas.


In this role, you would be a key part of International Division's Leadership team, covering all aspects of the FCA's international work and developing expertise in a number of key policy areas.


In this role, you will:

  • Help coordinate the work of a key division in a dynamic fast paced and changing environment;
  • Use programme, project and risk management techniques to deliver both fundamental organisation and policy change over the long term;
  • Develop your International Engagement skills including influencing, communicating, engagement and campaigning;
  • Help to codify complex policy and operational issues into deliverable international objectives and outcomes, ensuring that our work contributes to delivering the FCA's strategy and objectives;
  • Developing extensive networks within the FCA and with external stakeholders within and beyond the UK.
Skills and Experience Required

Minimum

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and develop relationships across cultural differences;
  • Experience working as part of a team, as well as collaboratively with immediate colleagues and other stakeholders;
  • The ability to integrate large amounts of information and summarise and offer advice thereupon;
  • Experience of Financial Services policy.
Essential

  • Organisational, prioritisation, time management and Delivery skills, including the ability to ensure delivery of a range of workstreams over time;
  • Judgement, including strong ability to prioritise competing demands and knowing when to deal with a problem oneself and when to escalate;
  • Proven clear, succinct oral and written communication skills;
  • The ability to remain calm, resilient and approachable under pressure.
Desirable

  • Experience of International engagement, delivery and influencing, ideally in a policy making or delivery environment;
  • Programme and Project Management experience;
  • Some understanding of the governance of the FCA.
