Material Controller - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract


Looking for an exciting opportunity in supply chain management? Team Swift is currently seeking a Material Controller to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a Material Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of parts to the production lines, reducing delays and ensuring seamless production.


Your main responsibilities will include daily expediting of purchase orders, monitoring suppliers for potential supply chain disruptions, placing orders through the MRP system, and managing supplier accounts on delivery days, times, and locations.

Additionally, you will communicate effectively with suppliers and production managers to ensure that issues and shortages are reported promptly and that revised dates are inputted accordingly.


Other responsibilities include:


  • Establishing professional relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Monitoring supplier performance, delivery, quality and service and taking appropriate action to deal with both issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Management of poor performing suppliers in conjunction with the relevant supply chain Procurement Specialist.
  • Undertake visits to suppliers as and when required.
  • Managing supplier accounts on delivery days, times and locations.
  • Communicating with the supplier on a daily basis to establish if there are any delays in products and try to improve on late dates to ensure despatch targets are met.

Who are we looking for?


To qualify for this role, you must have experience in working with multiple supplier accounts simultaneously, excellent communication skills, and a confident telephone manner.

You should be a competent user of Microsoft Excel and have GCSE A-C in Maths and English. A CIPS or relevant supply chain qualification is desirable.
