    A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently seeking a Technical Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team. Reporting not the site director this Technical Manager will implement the company's technical and quality strategy to ensure they are always audit ready. Ensuring the effective management of product safety, authenticity, legality and quality.

    Technical Manager responsibilities include:

    • Lead technical team to deliver the site business plan
    • Working in partnership with HR to ensure the recruitment, retention and development of technical staff
    • Produce and implement an annual training and succession plan
    • Ensure all annual PDRs are complete and robust
    • Coaching and development on a day-to-day basis
    • Manage people performance of the technical function
    • Develop multi-skilled resources to support the business
    • Collaboratively create, communicate and drive the site Food Safety & Quality Culture plan
    • Create a continuous improvement culture across the technical team bringing examples of best practices and new ideas
    • Support the Process Technologist to develop and lead initiatives for the site
    • Maximise efficiencies across the site through practices (through quality improvement projects)
    • Working in partnership with SHE in ensuring training is maintained and all areas reflecting the strong health and safety ethos of the company
    • Must comply with and enforce business and site-specific food safety/ quality, health & safety and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Produce and deliver financial budget commitments
    • Responsible for the management of activities which ensure the food safety, authenticity, legality and quality of our products.
    • Technical governance and reporting to senior management team
    • Ensuring compliance with legislation, company, accreditation, customer and good manufacturing practice standards/ codes of practice, working in partnership with central technical function
    • Working cross-site in partnership with peers to standardise and share best practices
    • Develop and implement the site food safety plan, promoting it to the site management team
    • Ensuring technical quality and best practice, training and promotion across the site
    • Training, verifying and supporting production in recipes, yield management, testing and analysing samples
    • Conducting incident investigations, including risk assessments
    • Supporting independent audits across the company

    You will ideally be a degree qualified Technical Manager with Dairy Manufacturing experience and Proficient understanding & knowledge of dairy/ food microbiology. You will have experience of working with multiple retailers and ideally your level 3 Food hygiene, level 4 HACCP as well as be proficient across Microsoft Office 365 suite.
