Band 2 Catering Assistant WCH 97.5 hours per week

An opportunity as arisen at North Cumbria Integrated Care based at West Cumberland Hospital in the busy Catering Department. This is for 3 Catering Assistant post working upto 32.5 hours per week.

Working 11.30am - 3pm and 4pm - 7pm on a 4 week rota which includes Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

The role entails working on a ward taking temperatures of food, plating meals for patients, washing crockery and cutlery in an industrial dishwasher, cleaning, disposing of food waste.


The job entails working in a busy work environment assisting with food preparation, taking temperatures, cleaning all crockery, disposing of waste, using industrial equipment, reporting faults and dealing with customer complaints.

The successful applicant must have the ability to work alone and to work effectively as part of a team This is a large area to work in and is a physically demanding job and you will be on your feet for most of the shift and must be able to work in both hot and cold environments.

The employee will also have the responsibility to follow all aspects of Food Safety, Allergen Laws and HACCP controls, this including the logging of hot and cold temperatures and that of fridges and freezers.

Full flexibility is required with this role for the covering at short notice of annual leave and sickness.

£18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

£38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
