    Job Description

With nearly 70% of the world's population living in cities by 2050 and around 40% of all emissions caused by the build environment, we need to find sustainable solutions for urban living.

Are you a passionate designer with a knack for creating functional and beautiful living spaces? Do you want to have a real impact and improve the lives of thousands of people?

Plenti is on a mission to revolutionise urban living, making it more affordable, comfortable, and sustainable. We're developing Smart Walls, a game-changing robotic interior system of movable walls with integrated furniture that transforms small spaces so that they feel and live like larger ones.

We're searching for a talented and creative Industrial/Furniture/Interior Designer to join our team and shape the future of urban living.

    Here's how you'll make a difference:

    • Collaborate with engineers to translate innovative design concepts into functional and sustainable Smart Walls.
    • Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for production, having a significant impact on designing the system in detail.
    • Research and source materials that prioritise quality, functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability, focusing on minimising waste and maximising responsible sourcing.
    • Brainstorm and develop new ideas for improvement of the robotic interior system and overall user experience.

    You'll also:

    • Create floor plans for clients, showcasing how Plenti Walls can be implemented in various spaces and optimise residential and potentially even commercial environments.
    • Create visually compelling presentations and marketing materials that showcase the beauty and functionality of Plenti's Smart Walls.
    • (Optional, based on availability): Participate in the design and build of a pop-up showroom, currently in progress.

    What you bring:

    • Relevant experience in industrial, furniture, or interior design.
    • A strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, creativity, and a passion for minimalistic and Scandinavian/Japanese-inspired design. We admire brands like Apple for their focus on clean lines and user-centered design.
    • Excellent 3D design skills are essential. Animation skills are a plus, as they can help visualise the functionality and transformation of Plenti Smart Walls.
    • A solid understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (or willingness to learn).
    • Proficiency in design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Adobe Suite).
    • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
    • A drive for innovation and a desire to make a real difference in the future of urban living.

    Diversity and Inclusion:

At Plenti, we value diversity of thought and experience. We believe that different perspectives are essential for creating innovative solutions. We are eager to get to know you and what unique talents and ideas you can bring to our team.

    We offer:

    • A unique opportunity to design your own job. We are keen to find a work arrangement that works for you. This can be everything from an internship, part-time role, contracting or joining us in full-time.
    • The chance to work on a cutting-edge product that's redefining urban living.
    • A fun and collaborative work environment with a passionate team.
    • £30-70k salary depending on experience, pro-rata for part-time positions.
    • 30 days of holiday per year.
    • A fantastic opportunity to learn and grow. We have great plans for Plenti and will do everything we can to give you opportunities to learn, grow, and test new things.
    • A hybrid work environment in central London near King's Cross, with an average of 2-3 days per week spent working together in person.
