    An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSx) for an experienced nurse to join our Sarcoma Nurse Specialist team.

    This is a coastal service so there will be travel to other parts of East and West Sussex including Eastbourne and potentially Worthing.

    The post is fixed term for 18 months.

    If you are unable to gain approval you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed term position.

    You will provide clinical expertise to the soft tissue diagnostic and sarcoma CNS services at University Hospitals Sussex in collaboration with existing post holders, and colleagues at other organisations demonstrating specialist clinical knowledge and skills to ensure patients referred to the service receive expert care and management appropriate to their individual needs and preferences.

    You will work collaboratively with the Multi-Professional Team across UHSx and colleagues in other Trusts locally and the sarcoma specialist centres, to ensure patient pathways of care are managed seamlessly, professionally and compassionately and in line with local, regional and national guidelines, acting as the patient advocate at all times.

    Applicants would be expected to provide expert information and advice to patients and their relatives whilst ensuring the delivery of a high quality and safe service, with a strong focus on improving the patient experience.

    Previous experience running nurse led clinics would be advantageous as an integral part of the role is autonomously delivering significant news, including cancer diagnoses, providing expert symptom advice and developing nurse led clinics in line with the personalised care agenda
    We will be collating data to write a business case with the intention of making the sarcoma CNS service permanent - audit, change management and service development experience will be extremely beneficial
    Evidence of specialist studies in cancer or relevant site-specific training or equivalent experience.
    evidence of dealing with people receiving life altering/limiting news
    psychological skills level 2 training
