You will be responsible for ensuring that all of SCC's license management services are provided to our customers in an effective and efficient manner as well as being responsible for managing all aspects of the software license management Best Practice tools and processes in place, performing activities such as Entitlements Management, Reconciliation activities, optimisation identification and audit support.


Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake assignments, specifically gathering and analysing customer's contract, entitlement, renewals and discovery data for inputting into SCCs SAM tool
  • Have excellent communication skills to enable open and transparent working practices with internal teams and external customers and vendors
  • Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders across SCC and others
  • Adhere to administrative processes in line with company guidelines
  • Provide advice and guidance to support each customer's best interests on software license management.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and managing expectations, acting as a trusted adviser to the customer.
  • Promote and recommend Best Practice to the Customer and provide support where appropriate.
  • Carry out one off Vendor audits where required
  • Carry out SaaS optimisation activities identifying areas of optimisation and cost reduction
  • Strong understanding of major license models including Microsoft and VMware.
  • Ability to research, interpret and communicate product use rights and licensing terms & conditions
  • Use of License and Service Management toolsets ie System Center Suite
  • Ability to act as SAM advocate and influencer at all levels of the IT Organisation
  • Experience responding to and managing software compliance reviews / audits by major vendors.
  • Experience implementing SAM tools
  • Experience defining and implementing SAM Strategies along with Policies and Processes
  • Good level of technical understanding
  • Track record for driving consolidation of licenses and cost reductions achieving to performance and delivery targets
  • Ability to maintain customer relationships and exceed expectations
  • Ability to anticipate future trends, priorities and requirements
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to create, interpret and present data effectively
  • Experience in at least one of the following licence management tools:
  • Snow Licence Manager
  • Flexera
  • Service Now SAMPro

Desirable:


  • Experience managing SaaS license models
  • Experience with IBM, Oracle and SAP
  • Experience managing licensing in IaaS platforms i.e. Cloud Technologies and Microsoft Cloud Partner Agreement
  • Use of ServiceNow Service management tool, particularly SAM module
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 and ISO/IEC 20000 with a track record of operating and managing within an IT Service Management environment
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Business management training and experience
  • Technical qualifications
  • Relevant technical experience within IT Industry
  • Demonstrable experience with the analysis of discovery tool data
  • Knowledge of licensing models across the vendors for entitlements and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong and broad Excel skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service management
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in services organisations and environments would be advantageous
