The role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Investment Management team.

The candidate should be willing to step into a dynamic working environment focusing on reporting and data analysis of Twelve Capital's portfolios (80%), in addition to tool development and analysis for the ILS team (20%).

This role is vital in analysing data and providing insights that drive investment strategies.

The role requires a candidate who has a strong background in data analysis and programming, as well as a keen interest in Finance.

Main responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct thorough data analysis to support investment decisions and client requests, such as; Due Diligence Questionnaires, preparing reports on portfolio performance, risk metric calculation, portfolio optimisation, and customised ad hoc requests

ILS Analytics:

ca.20% of the role will be integrating with the ILS analytics team to support tool development, data engineering, and catastrophe analytics.

Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Sales and the Marketing and Client Service teams to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights

Technical Infrastructure Management:
Develop and maintain R code for data analysis and reporting tools. Update and create SQL databases for efficient data storage. Ensure the seamless integration of new data sources and analytics tools into our R environment

Tool Development and Maintenance:
Design and upkeep of R Shiny applications, including key analytics tools and developing new tools as required

Qualifications, experience and other personal attributes

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related numerical field

Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in a programming language with the willingness to use R and SQL

Analytical Mindset:
Ability to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate complex concepts and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Strong sense of job ownership, strong interpersonal and communication skills and flexibility to adapt to changes
• Excellent command of English
