An expanding and excellent primary school in Dunmow is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is eager to work in an exciting and gratifying environment.

We are looking for an LSA to work one to one with a non-verbal autistic child in year 2. There will be a requirement to assist with toileting and eating.


As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for working with children one-on-one, supporting them with their academic, behavioural, and social development, as well as assisting children who have difficulty studying.

You must be compassionate and empathetic as a learning support assistant, with a strong desire to provide a loving learning environment.


REQUIREMENTS FROM THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • A sound understanding of how children develop socially and mentally.
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is preferred.
  • An Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get a new one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role).
  • Two most recent professional recommendations. (This is essential)

  • Motivating your pupils to achieve beyond their potential.
  • Supporting and encouraging pupils in their schoolwork.
  • Encouraging children to communicate.
  • Helping children understand instructions.
  • Ensuring pupils feel comfortable and confident in their own abilities.
  • Listening to children read, reading to them, and telling them stories.
  • Looking after vulnerable children who require a dedicated person to manage their physical needs, including their hygiene.
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
