Outside of IR35


Location of work:
First two weeks onsite, then remote. Agreement to be on site only when needed during testing


The Project:

An IoT electronics business based in the West Midlands require an Embedded Software Engineer to work on an IoT gateway device that has been ported from Linux to FreeRTOS.

The gateway uses MQTT and AWS IoT Core to send data collectedfrom wireless sensors to the Cloud.


Since porting the firmware from Linux to FreeRTOS there are a few changes needing to be made to the embedded c software in order for the firmware to function correctly on the new operating system.

You will initially be tasked with bug fixing the embedded software and making any needed alternations to the code. You will be later tasked with developing new features and enhancements to the device.


Skills required:


  • Embedded C
  • RTOS (ideally FreeRTOS)
  • IoT experience (ideally MQTT and AWS)
  • Linux experience (desirable, not essential)
