    Job summary

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead for Allied Health Professionals Workforce Development. This newly developed role has been created to aid the AHP service in its commitment to ensuring that we map and deliver service plans and evaluations in relation to local , regional and national workforce development. Key priorities will be alignment with the North East and North Cumbria Faculty, AHP deliver Strategy and the NHS Long Term Plan.

    The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of current AHP workforce priorities and have a clear vision of the impact that this post will have in AHP service development. It will play a key part shaping North Tees and Hartlepool AHP services.

    The post holder will report directly to the Associate Director of Allied Health Professionals will have a key role in the Organisation in developing and maintaining a sustainable Allied Health Professionals workforce for the future.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will-Will support the development and lead the delivery of Trust wide projects, plans and policies that support the AHP planning and development, to include Mapping workforce, Apprenticeships, Workforce demographics, International provide expert advice and professional leadership to senior leaders within the Organisation in relation to issues of professional practice, safe staffing, preceptorship, job planning, be a key role in shaping, planning and delivering high quality, innovative, patient and staff focused projects and work streams to support the delivery of safe and effective ensure that safe staffing systems and processes are in place to enable the delivery of high quality and safe care to service users and subsequently the delivery of the overarching Trust NMAHP support the marketing of AHP professions, delivery of the recruitment, retention and growth of the AHP workforce to meet the needs of the local gather diversity data in NTHFT to promote the development of a range initiative to attract a wider range of individuals from all backgrounds to enter the AHP assist with planning and hosting events to showcase the available AHP careers and to celebrate AHP workforce promote AHP visibility, Influence and impact.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

  • Using sound professional judgement to interpret and support the implementation of national, regional and local AHP policy.
  • The post holder will work with minimal guidance to support the strategic objectives of the Trust, focusing on AHP workforce. They will use their own professional judgement, experience and knowledge to interpret and address a range of operational and strategic issues.
  • To support the development of strategies to improve and monitor bank and agency spend across the AHP workforce.
  • Work in collaboration with Maternity, Nursing an medical colleagues to support the development and the delivery of a sustainable workforce model for the future.
  • Work in collaboration with People Services, recruitment, education and professional colleagues to ensure there is a robust recruitment and retention strategy for AHP posts
  • To support regular analysis and interpretation of AHP data relating to workforce and patient and staff outcomes and safety.
  • Alongside the Associate Director AHP Workforce, provide assurance of Trust compliance with the Developing Workforce Staffing resource offers for each clinical area highlighting capacity and demand modelling.

    Essential

  • Professional degree or equivalent in appropriate AHP discipline
  • Masters level qualification or evidence working towards/evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience to masters level
  • Substantial experience at a Senior Level
  • Leadership qualification
  • Evidence of recent and ongoing Understanding of current national AHP Workforce priorities Experience of workforce planning Project Management qualification AF/I professional development
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Experience of project management
  • Understanding of AHP Preceptorship, Apprenticeships, Job planning.
