We are delighted to be working with a client, recruiting on their behalf for
Health and Safety Officer, a role that is available on a full-time basis in the Hartlepool area.
Applicants must get a Basic DBS upon offer.
- To assist with the development and implementation of risk control policies and procedures
- To monitor and evaluate the interests with reference to Health & safety legislative compliance
- To assist with the assessment of risk covering the full range of activities
- To manage, deliver and develop the Health & Safety training programs.
- To represent at the regional Health & Safety training forums
- To undertake investigations into the cause of loss or injury events
- To undertake monitoring and auditing of the safety management systems
- To provide advice and guidance on safety issues
- To undertake the collation and preparation of statistics (including trend analysis)
- To undertake activities that feed into the safety management planning process to contribute to continuous improvement
- To carry out research and analysis to facilitate the improvement of the sections' services
- To provide administration and clerical support to the safety team
- To undertake such personal development training as may be deemed necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post
- To understand and promote the principles of equal opportunities and fairness at work
- To complete inspection of premises to ensure compliance with legislation
- To audit the use of contractors and ensure they complete all works using the agreed safety precautions
- To work with the Property section to ensure potential hazards at properties are resolved quickly
- To assist with the management of litigation
- To liaise and co-ordinate with other facilities
- To assist in reviewing process (buildings)
- To review and up-date Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments
- To carryout research and analysis to facilitate the improvement of the impact the organisation has on the environment
