The hedge fund we are working with are one of the most attractive to join in London. Their culture is one that blends high performace with a supportive and friendly atmosphere. They are relatively new but already established firm who have a highly enviablereputation in the market.

As they are still relatively small, there is great opportunity to work on greenfield projects and work directly with extremely senior stakeholders in the business.

Essentially, they are looking for someone who can take ownership of all things data. This will include maximising the value from current data as well as generating value from identfiying new data.


They are looking for someone who can design and deliver their data and information management process in line with business needs.

This will involve developing and implementing data management processes to improve data quality and maximise efficiency throughoutthe information management lifecycle.

Expertise with fixed income derivative market data is desired (bond static data in particular) and data feeds such as central bank data, economic data etc as well as vendor data.

There is scope for this person to identify new ways that data can be used. This will involve working with PMs to add new data feeds that are relevant to their strategies.

It will also involve cultivating relationships with market participants to understandwhere to find flow and to learn of upcoming bond issuances.

As a result, they are looking for someone with strong fixed income knowledge and a commercial approach. The output for this role is good, actionable data for the investment team.


Another aspect of this role will be liaising with data vendors and suppliers to negotiate the best prices for data going forwards.

Experience with negotiations are desireable. This will be part of a larger process of ensuring all licences/renewals are managedproperly.

Whilst our client is prioritising the person over the CV, the ideal skill set would look like the following:

  • 5+ years of experience as a fixed income data product manager / data manager / management consultant / data quality manager or similar role preferred
  • Expertise with fixed income bond static data is of signifcant interest
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science,
Mathematics, Statistics or a solid quantitative discipline in science,
business, or social science preferred

  • Ability to scope, plan and execute on multiple projects
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to use data to solidify recommendations
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills essential
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income derivatives desired but not required
