    Perth & Kinross Council has one of the most developed private rented sector teams and the initiatives offered are nationally recognised.

    The housing service is also sector leading in its approach to homelessness.

    This is a unique role in housing allowing the successful candidate an opportunity to apply their own creativity and flair to the delivery of services.

    This innovative approach to housing access has existed for over 15 years and whilst well developed, still offers opportunities to tailor services to suit both the needs of our customers and the needs of the market.

    We are looking for an individual who will thrive in this environment and seek opportunities for engagement with the private rented sector and continue to create opportunities for access into Private Rented Housing.

    The teams key areas of responsibility are engaging with private landlords and letting agents to promote good property and management standards, offering support to landlords to achieve the repairing standard and working with colleagues in Landlord registration as appropriate, as well as organising Landlord forums, and other training events.

    The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with the Housing options team with a focus on homeless prevention and housing options solutions, and linking in with other housing teams to raise awareness and understanding of the Private rented sector, its challenges and the opportunities it presents to us.

    Development of landlord support services will also be relevant to continue to improve the quality of the private rented sector and support landlords to navigate the challenges of the ever changing legislative landscape.

    The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach and show confidence and ability to work creatively with other housing teams to problem solve complex and challenging situations, often where a response is time critical.

    We are looking for an individual who has a good knowledge of housing, ideally with a specific interest in the Private Rented Sector and a passion for making a difference to others.

    The successful candidate should hold a housing qualification, ideally related to letting and managing residential property in the private rented sector.

    You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.

    The successful candidate will be required to participate in the council's out of hours standby rota as needed.
