Programme Officer
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Officer to work with an International Development Organisation.

The role could have a focus on Monitoring Evaluation and Learning or voluntary carbon projects, so any experience in these fields would be beneficial.

Location:
Flexible, with regular visits to Bristol with occasional travel to Africa for work purposes


Hours:
Full-time, 35hrs per week.


Salary:
£ 27-29k per annum, competitive holiday + pension


Contract:
Full-Time Permanent

The Role


As Programme Officer you will support the Head of Programme Management in monitoring donor contracts and compliance with donor requirements; timely project delivery and budget utilisation; adherence to the charity's policies and standards.


As Programme Officer, you will support in:

  • Monitoring the charity's project progress
  • Providing feedback to country teams and the Head of Programme Management
  • Assisting Head of Programme Management with monthly internal reporting on programme progress.
  • Monitoring financial spending.
  • Liaising with the finance team on the production of monthly project financial reports.
  • Supporting the production of donor reports.
  • Tracking donor invoicing and income.
  • Ensuring quarterly KPI information related to the projects is accurate.
  • Producing subpartner contracts.
  • Maintaining a register of partner training and capacity development.

About You
As Programme Officer, you will have a wealth of experience in project/contract management ideally in an international development organisation


You will also have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

  • Able to work as part of a cross-cultural team, particularly with staff for whom English is not their first language
  • Able to work flexibly and be adaptable
  • Shows Initiative, and can work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent IT skills specifically Excel
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy
  • Ability to work with English and French speaking staff
