    Job summary:

    The Design Lead will establish our visual style and identity, and craft standout designs across our suite of products and assets. You'll provide inspiration and innovative ideas that evolve our brand identity and make sure our design guidelines are used consistently. You'll also demonstrate a deep understanding of user experience, typography, and motion design.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish the visual elements and standards that reflect and support the overarching brand identity.
    • Evolve our brand, as well as subsidiary identities falling under the Business Leader umbrella, and ensure that our visual tone of voice remains consistent through everything we do.
    • Conceptualise campaign and ad creatives, bringing them to life on and off platform.
    • Lead on the design of digital assets for a range of platforms, including social and newsletter.
    • Collaborate with our Digital team on user experience, ensuring all design elements on screen are cohesive, intuitive and optimised for usability, ultimately enhancing the overall user journey.
    • Develop infographics and data visualisation to make complex ideas clear and enjoyable, and create bespoke design for online features.
    • Produce a range of standout printed collateral, oversee production and quality control.
    • Design pieces of visual display for our in-person events.
    • Work with the Commercial team to design pitches, proposals and kits to promote our offering to potential partners and sponsors.
    • Successfully communicate your design thinking to colleagues across Business Leader.

    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    • Experience working in media is essential.
    • Highly motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment, and willing to take on big and small tasks.
    • Full of ideas and able to translate our mission into standout creative that supports our brand values.
    • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Suite and other design software to achieve the above requirements.
    • Experience of designing products across a range of platforms.
    • Awareness of what other brands are doing in journalism, business, and related industries.
    • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects and manage expectations effectively.
    • Great interpersonal skills and comfortable collaborating with a range of teams.
