We are working with a dynamic SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Newham, who are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all their students.

There dedicated team is passionate about helping students overcome behavioural challenges and thrive academically and socially.


Role Overview:


As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties within a primary school setting.

You will work closely with teachers, Therapists and other support staff to implement strategies and interventions that promote positive behaviour and facilitate students' overall development.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, addressing their specific behavioural challenges and promoting positive coping strategies.
  • Implement effective behaviour management techniques and strategies to prevent and deescalate challenging behaviours in the classroom and other school environments.
  • Offer oneonone mentoring and coaching sessions to students, helping them build selfesteem, resilience, and social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement Educational Health Care Plans and behaviour support plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of students, adjusting interventions and strategies as needed to ensure their continued development and success.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers, providing feedback on students' progress and offering support and guidance on managing challenging behaviours at home.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and any incidents related to student behaviour, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude towards challenging behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, counselling, or a related field would be advantageous.

Complete Classroom Services are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children.

All school staff should be aware of the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.


Pay:
£90.00-£110.00 per day
