An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Network Services Team Leader until May 2023.

Applications are invited for an excellent opportunity to join a small team of network professionals supporting operational front line policing.

This is a busy, challenging but rewarding role working in all areas of networking. We have an extensive network with over 100 police buildings split across two counties. Our network technology is first-class, and we are early adopters of Cisco's technology platforms.

Details of - 5 years network experience held witihn an enterprise environment.

Experience of Cisco products, other network topologies encompassing different flavours of networking.

Taking responsibility and accountability of tasks to reach a satisfactory conclusion ensuring any problems are corrected promptly and openly yet following approved working practices and systems

Strong communication skills especially in relation to Customer Service and working with others at all levels. Demonstrate effective communication when delivering advice, information, updates and training to solve issues.

Learning, qualifications, or experience in cloud-based technologies.

Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

Ability to lead and manage staff with significant personal motivation, drive and experience of supervising staff

The Network Services Team provide out of hours critical incident support to policing. The successful applicant must be willing to join the rota when/if required.

The core location base for this role will be Essex.

Please note that all roles within IT Services will be included in a restructure over the coming 12 months.

This is to support a remodelling of the department to adapt to the changing technical functions, technologies and IT service sectors.


Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to.

This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
