    The post holder will lead and direct the Business Analytics service within the Digital Services department creating value by providing access to relevant information through approved data sets, reports and dashboards that will promote and respond to the clinical service quality improvement, performance and contract management agendas of the organisation.

    Ensure that the data within the data warehouse and reporting solution is updated to an acceptable frequency to provide confidence that it can be utilised by clinicians and managers in decision making.

    Introduce plans, programmes, polices and standards to ensure the timely delivery of the Data Transformation Strategy, enabling the organisation to evolve towards a data-driven and learning organisation.

    Lead the Business Analytics service, within Digital Services, to ensure that products (data sets, reports, dashboards and analytical cubes) are delivered, create value, and securely accessible.

    Ensure supervision and appraisal are aligned to the emerging needs of both Data Analytics and Digital Services strategies. Lead on development and execution of Data Transformation Strategy, introducing delivery programmes to ensure major milestones are achieved.

    The informatics team is split into two areas, data delivery and requirements & engagement.

    We work in an environment of collaboration, and whilst we endeavour to deliver information in a right the first-time environment, we have also created the space for teams and individuals to test out new technologies or interest projects within ring-fenced time - often in collaboration with external consultancies who support and encourage learning within the team.

    The Digital Services Informatics team is based at Jeanette Wallace House, in between Bromley and Croydon (CR0 1FE).
    and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.

    Lead the Business Analytics service, within Digital Services, to ensure that products (data sets, reports, dashboards and analytical cubes) are delivered, create value, and securely accessible.

    Ensure supervision and appraisal are aligned to the emerging needs of both Data Analytics and Digital Services strategies. Lead on development and execution of Data Transformation Strategy, introducing delivery programmes to ensure major milestones are achieved.

    Define the BI Technical roadmap ensuring the delivery of business value through the exploitation of modern and emerging technologies.

    Ensure the delivered analytics and products meets the need of the clinical services, quality improvement, performance and contract management agendas of the organisation.

    Ensure the production of metadata allowing consumers of the Business Analytics service to understand what products and data sets are available,
    Create metrics and monitor the Business Analytics service, sharing performance and improvement ideas with senior management.
    Lead on the assurance of data processing and content management by the implementation of the COBIT5 governance methodology.

    Commission routine external audits to test end-to-end data processing and further improve through continual service improvements, results of which will be routinely shared with the Trust Audit Committee.

    Work through collaboration with senior stakeholders, such as Executive Leadership Team, Chief Information Officer, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Performance and Contracts Lead, Quality Improvement Lead, Operation Directorate Leads, South London Partnership, Kings Health Partners, Social Services, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other partners of the Trust.

    Lead on in the introduction of 'BI Centre of Excellence' forums for both clinical and corporate users of the Data Visualisation Platform.

    These forums allow for ideas to be shared, provides access to data specialists, resulting in personal development, increase technology adoption and new assets which deliver value to the business as a whole.

    Lead on the Analytics and Visualisation Programme, ensuring business alignment with both strategic transformation programmes and tactical needs of the organisation.

    Introduce polices, standards and procedures to ensure that created products and development follows good practices, such as ITIL.

    Lead on ensuring the availability and secured access to sophisticated 'simple-to-use' self-service BI tools which provide clinicians and managers vital information to perform their roles more effectively and efficiently.

    This includes mobile access enabling informed decisions to be made at the time required using the best data-based evidence.
    Lead on the development and implementation of light touch data governance strategy and associated policies within the organisation.

    This will articulate the separation between the provision and management of assured data products (reports, dashboard and data cubes), and the additional value which is created by the users of the data visualisation platform.

    Data Engineering Leadership
    Lead, implement, manage and continuously monitor the routine delivery of data from disparate information systems and national sources.

    Introduce polices, standards and procedures to ensure that data flow and data model development follows good practices, such as ITIL.

    Lead on the management of the Business Intelligence Platform, ensuring the organisation achieves value for money, and takes advantage of emerging technologies which may provide improved performance for reduced total cost of ownership.

    Lead of the development of holistic integrated data models which provide business value, and ensuring they are routinely populated from disparate data sources.

    Post Graduate Technical degree, and proven technical history
    Evidence of continual professional/managerial development required
    Proven evidence of PRINCE2, ITIL and other methodologies
    Relevant experience in supporting users with knowledge of NHS data reporting, data quality, performance management and Service Improvement
    Understanding of NHS Information Governance and regulatory needs
    Knowledge and experience of Information Architecture Data modelling and visualisation related methodologies, processes, best practices & tools
    Substantial experience in using Microsoft SQL Server and corporate reporting tools including SSIS and SSAS
    Experience of working and engaging with senior clinical staff and operational performance leads
    Experience of delivering a data visualisation programme which clinical data quality and performance management
    Documenting data modelling and visualisation solutions including architectural diagrams, dashboards, extracts, and reports. Good analytical knowledge of spread sheets, database applications and familiarity with macro creating and programming, such as Visual Basic
    Experience of managing budgets and external contractors/consultancies
    Experience of requirements/business analysis techniques
    Dynamic, commercial, customer driven, delivery focused attitude
    Ability to establish credibility with senior managers and clinicians and with representatives of external agencies
    A flexible and innovative approach to problem solving
    Experience in writing reports and project initiation documents
    Working with teams to exploit local utility of IT solutions
    Professional Membership of British Computer Society
    Experience of solution design & development life cycle involving BI technologies and Frameworks
    Experience of best practice procedures in data management and architectural development across a range of organisations
    Experience of corporate reporting tools and abstraction layers such as SAP Business Objects, Microsoft SSAS/SSRS, and Qlikview
    Experience of using data modelling tools to develop data warehouse structures within a Quality Assurance Framework
    Knowledge of mental health services or NHS data models
    Postgraduate/professional qualification in research/advanced statistics
