Description

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Project Officer to join the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO) at the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

You will be working across the IDDO portfolio of programmes covering emerging infections, neglected poverty-related diseases and malaria.


In this dynamic and varied role, you will manage and develop data access systems, processes, policies and guidance that enable responsible data reuse to facilitate the production of research and evidence, a central activity required to achieve IDDO's vision and mission, delivering a lasting impact on global health resulting from IDDO's programmes.

You will take a proactive and leading role in engaging with the members of IDDO's Data Access Committee, data contributors and researchers seeking access to data - a broad range of stakeholders across the emerging infections, neglected disease and malaria communities, both nationally and internationally.


It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant discipline, and have proven administrative and project management skills, including attention to detail and being able to keep accurate records.

You will have strong commitment to customer service and continuous improvement, together with the ability to understand and interpret complex requirements, and to communicate key messages to specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, as well as a strong attention to detail and sensitivity to stakeholder needs are required to build effective, trusting relationships and bring ownership and oversight to data access activities at IDDO.


This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until 31 July 2024 and is funded by the Wellcome.
