    Job Title:
    Data Cabling Engineer

    Location:
    Sites in West Wales & South-West of England

    Salary:
    £400 - £420 per day per TEAM / Lump Sum per site

    Duration: 8-10 month contract

    The Role

    * iCobus are looking for Qualified, 2-man Structured Cabling Teams to work on a Nation-Wide WIFI Installation Roll-Out Project. You will install CAT6A Cabling, some trunking and containment as needed as well as a 12 core OM4 Fibre Cable on each site that needs to be spliced.


    Requirements:

    • At least 5-Years' Copper & Fibre Optic Cable Installation Experience
    • At least 5-Years'Containment Installation Experience (Tray, Basket, Conduit & Trunking)
    • Own Van
    * 4-6 Tread Ladders


    • SDS Drills, Combi & Impact Drills
    • Fibre Splicer (Fujikura / Sumitomo)
    • Cable Analyser or Tester (Access to a Fluke is advantageous)
    • Hand Tools for Containment & Cabling
    • Cat6 & Cat6a Terminating Tools
    • Small Hoover to clean work area
    • Customer Facing with Good Communication Skills
    • Smart-Phone or Tablet (iPhone, Android or iPad)
    Duties and Responsibilities


    • On-site installation, testing and termination of CAT 6a Data Cabling & Fibre Optic Cabling.
    • On-site installation, of Containment, which may include Tray Work, Basket, Conduit and PVC trunking.
    • Installation of Server Cabinets, Network Equipment, Wireless Access Points
    • Assisting with Network Migrations / Cutovers
    • Taking Images and Documenting Your Work - Uploading to Our Online Platform using your Smart-Phone

    • CNCI Copper & Fibre Qualified

    Further Skills & Experience:

    • Ability to read architectural drawings
    • Excellent understanding of health and safety practice
    • Experienced in the setting up, use and understanding of the results from a Fluke DSX8000/5000 or similar test equipment.
    • Experience with the safe and correct use of ladders and other access equipment
    • Experience with the correct and safe use of power tools
    • English Language (written and verbal) to a GCSE level or equivalent as you should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, written, over the phone and
    * face to face.
