The role
As a Lead Trainer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Lead the people in their department to get the best out of them, to deliver training to the standards in accordance with the EMTC2 and Authority local instructions.

Day to day, you'll support the delivery of training, as directed by the Training Operations Manager (TOM).

Managing the requirement of trainers and training assets to facilitate the delivery of course material to trainees as directed within the training timetable.


  • Ensure compliance with Babcock Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), adhering to relevant responsibilities and accountabilities. Guaranteeing all employees under your jurisdiction comply with Babcock SOPs
  • Collate reports, performance data and other material as required to support the TOM.
  • Ensure training, in accordance with the approved Course Training Package (CTP), is delivered to trainees as scheduled by Training Planning.
  • Manage staff performance using available tools by the means of appraisals, disciplinary procedures and implementation of developmental measures to address any performance issues
  • Ensure open lines of communication are maintained with staff, TOM and SL.
This role is full time on site, 37 hours per week and will be based at our Lyneham site


Essential experience of the Lead Trainer STT

  • Extensive mechanical background
  • Excellent personnel management/coaching skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with tact and diplomacy
  • IT literate (MS Office)

Qualifications for the Lead Trainer STT

  • Level 4 Certification of Education is desirable
  • C&G level 3 or above
