Motor Vehicle Mechanic

We are currently partnering with a renowned garage, Lothian Car Centre, renowned for its high-quality mechanical repair and services and their commitment to excellence in the automotive industry.

They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Motor Mechanic to join their dynamic team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Visually inspect, conduct test drives, or use test equipment to diagnose engine and mechanical faults.
  • Remove, dismantle, repair, and replace defective parts, preparing new parts using appropriate tools.
  • Reassemble, test, adjust, and tune the appropriate parts, systems, or entire engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on oil and air filters, brakes, and other vehicle parts/systems.
  • Diagnose faults in electrical/electronic circuitry, remove faulty components, and fit replacements.
  • Check the condition of electrical/electronic systems and carry out servicing tasks.
  • Install additional electrical amenities such as radio/CD players and aerials.
  • Repair and service air conditioning, heating, and enginecooling systems.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Proven two years' experience as a Vehicle Motor Mechanic.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Strong diagnostic and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment effectively.
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic systems in vehicles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Able to carry out motor repairs & other work without supervision.

£26,200.00-£27,000.00 per year
