The NCA are delighted to offer posts for midwives to join the NCA as a telephone triage midwife working as part of our friendly, supportive, maternity triage team.

There will be a requirement to provide direct clinical care within this role.


Whilst this role will involve core duties there will be opportunities to rotate to other clinical areas to maintain clinical skills and confidence.


Answer the telephone within maternity triage and using the BSOTS algorithm and your expert clinical midwifery knowledge provide women, birthing people and their families with advice, undertake risk assessments and refer appropriately.

Support the maternity triage team by completing some clinical duties to support patient flow and compliance with BSOTS

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.

Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
