Minimum 20 hours/week (Monday to Friday) with the possibility of full time in the near future.

Ioma Clothing Group is a long-established, family run business, currently going through a period of rapid growth. We are a specialist provider of managed and outsourced uniform clothing services with a strong and loyal client base.

We are recruiting a Credit Control/Sales Ledger Assistant to join our friendly and supportive finance team at our offices in Hunts Cross near Speke, Liverpool.


You must have relevant experience working with Sage 50 Accounts Professional, excellent written and verbal communication skills and telephone manner.

Your responsibilities as a Credit Control/Sales Ledger Assistant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
  • Keeping detailed records of collection activities and conversations
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Run and scrutinise aged debt reports, on a daily basis
  • Day to day sales ledger postings to Sage, including working with colleagues to obtain purchase orders, raising timely invoices, allocating receipts, and maintaining accurate records
  • Sending out customer statements and copy invoices to keep customers on track to pay
  • Provide weekly updates to management on cleared invoices and confirmed payments
  • Assisting with month end processes
  • Work alongside management to implement more efficient processes and procedures to improve overall performance of Credit Control function
  • Exposure to other areas of finance to assist with team cover

Qualifications and Skills:


You will need to have a minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role for small to medium sized businesses, and a proven track record to complete the duties listed.


  • Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts Professional
  • Ability to form relationships with customers, leaving a positive impression of the business, whilst also ensuring cash collection
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and supportive approach to team working
  • Hard working and results driven with good listening skills
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a calm and professional manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong computer skills (MS Office) particularly Excel to an intermediate level
  • Minimum Grade C / 4 or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE
  • AAT L3 would be a distinct advantage
