RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Warwickshire for an Information Assurance Consultant to support the Information Security programme to enable accreditation, assurance and compliance with wider mandatory information securityrequirements and national reporting standards.


This is a full time, 6 months contract with possibility to extend and offers a daily pay rate of £350.00.


Main Duties:


  • Implement processes and techniques to verify compliance against security policies, standards, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake risk assessments to identify the different forms of threat to and vulnerabilities of information assets, and controls and safeguards.
  • Ensure inspection, survey, information security audit and compliance activity is undertaken to ensure the physical and data security protection of all information systems and information assets and compliance with information security regulations, standards,policies, and information risk management.
  • Assist in the compilation and development of Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS) and Information Risk Assessment Reports (IRAR).
  • Maintain awareness and up to date knowledge of all current relevant information security management legislation, methods and practices ensuring that an environment of continuous improvement, innovation and emerging best practice are evaluated.
  • Represent professionally and promote the reputation of the force at meetings and groups both internally and externally, including the development of appropriate and constructive partnerships with relevant organisations.
  • Engagement, Planning & Control and Delivery
  • Guide project and business stake holders to ensure solutions meet national and business standards for security and assurance and are fit for future.
  • Assist in production of plans for pragmatic ways of working to mitigate and highlight risks to the organisation within practical constraints
  • Work with 'Business Owners' and BAS stakeholders to understand the strategic objectives and agree the strategic objectives and highlevel benefits to be delivered by the projects.
  • Contribute to the development of the business case and financial investment case.
  • Inform on business continuity and disaster recovery planning teams Delivery
  • Inform and evaluate and monitor risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, interdependencies and changes, escalating those outside tolerance if appropriate.
  • Support the business, projects and ICT deliver key documentation and ensure security management and assurance activities are executed (e.g. relevant training) to enable business adoption of changes
