The programme is targeted at experienced professionals who are looking to return to work after an extended career break of 18 months or more and who are interested in returning to the Financial Services sector.


We welcome people who are returning to the workplace after a career break, whether that was to look after family, provide care, for health reasons, travel, volunteering, study or time out.

The journey back to work can be daunting so we put this programme in place to ease the transition. Plus, wherever possible we offer flexible working and family friendly arrangements.

How will you benefit from the Programme?

The Role:
The M&G plc Finance function has four strategic priorities:
Supporting the financial strength of the business by successfully balancing the competing demands of commerciality and prudence in a well governed and controlled environment Delivering clear and incisive decision support, through commercially focused business partnering and by providing transparent, risk-based advice underpinned by a fully embedded materiality framework Creating a truly agile Finance function, which is responsive to changing market conditions and client requirements Ensuring best in class service delivery through robust service management and through the delivery of efficient and optimised processes


This Finance Specialist role will sit within Actuarial Methodology & Assumptions and Support and will contribute to the achievement of one or more of these outcomes to deliver the vision for Finance.


Key Responsibilities for this role:
The role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of Products & Operations Support work within Finance and the wider business, including:

  • The maintenance and development of the customer calculations bases for our new and existing life, pension and investment products (e.g., surrender / transfer values, claim values, projections, illustrations)
  • Supporting investigations into customer calculation related queries raised by other Actuarial areas and the wider business
  • Liaising with stakeholders across the wider business and with external parties to ensure understanding of complex and technical information, developing relationships with key business areas

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within an actuarial team preferable, alternatively strong mathematical skills required
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Able to disseminate quality information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of developing a broad base of relationships with key contacts across Finance and with key business stakeholders
  • Comfortable communicating business issues to appropriate parties and providing support to stakeholders
